Pharma New Zealand™ Ultra Pure 1440 Omega-3 Fish Oil 96% — 60 Capsules

A highly concentrated marine omega-3 formula delivering 1,440 mg total omega-3 fatty acids in one daily capsule.

EPA, DHA and DPA are long-chain omega-3 fatty acids that become incorporated into cell membranes and influence lipid transport, inflammatory signalling and the production of specialised lipid mediators. Their biological effects are not interchangeable: EPA is particularly relevant to hepatic triglyceride metabolism, while DHA is an important structural fatty acid in neural and retinal membranes.

Each capsule is produced from 1,500 mg of concentrated sea fish oil and supplies 1,440 mg total omega-3 fatty acids—equivalent to 96% omega-3 concentration. This includes 1,060 mg EPA, 210 mg DHA, 40 mg DPA and 130 mg other omega-3 fatty acids. The concentrated profile provides substantially more EPA and DHA per capsule than low-concentration fish oils, reducing the number of capsules needed to obtain a meaningful daily intake.

EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function, while fish-oil supplementation can lower circulating triglycerides in a dose-dependent manner. However, treatment of clinically elevated triglycerides uses assessed, prescription-level regimens; a food supplement should not be presented as equivalent to prescription omega-3 therapy. NIH omega-3 fact sheet

Cardiovascular outcomes depend on the formulation, dose and clinical population. Omega-3 intake should therefore sit within a broader pattern that addresses dietary quality, alcohol and refined-carbohydrate intake, physical activity, body composition, blood pressure, glycaemic control and prescribed lipid-lowering treatment where indicated.

Eicosapentaenoic Acid EPA

Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) — 1,060 mg

EPA influences hepatic very-low-density lipoprotein production, fatty-acid oxidation and triglyceride-rich lipoprotein metabolism. It also serves as a precursor for eicosanoids and specialised pro-resolving mediators involved in regulating inflammatory responses. Both EPA and DHA can lower triglycerides, although their broader lipid effects are not identical. Reference

Docosahexaenoic Acid DHA

Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) — 210 mg

DHA is a highly unsaturated structural lipid concentrated in the brain and retina and incorporated throughout cell membranes. Its membrane effects influence fluidity, receptor function and cellular signalling. In cardiovascular metabolism, DHA contributes alongside EPA to triglyceride regulation and normal heart function.

Docosapentaenoic Acid DPA

Docosapentaenoic Acid (DPA) — 40 mg

DPA is positioned metabolically between EPA and DHA and can contribute to the body's long-chain omega-3 pool. It is retained in circulating lipids and tissues and may act as a reservoir that can be converted back toward EPA or onward toward DHA, depending on physiological demand.

DL-alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate

DL-Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate

A stable form of vitamin E included in the formulation. Vitamin E participates in lipid-phase antioxidant defence, which is physiologically relevant because long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids contain multiple double bonds and are susceptible to oxidation.

Who It May Suit

  • Adults whose diets provide little oily fish or marine omega-3
  • People seeking a high-concentration, one-capsule source of EPA and DHA
  • Adults using nutrition to support normal heart function and triglyceride metabolism

Clinical Considerations

  • Fish allergy: contains sea fish oil and is not suitable for people with fish allergy.
  • Anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication, bleeding disorders or planned surgery: consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
  • Abnormal heart rhythm: people with atrial fibrillation or another diagnosed rhythm disorder should seek clinical advice before using concentrated omega-3 supplements.
  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding or medical treatment: consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
  • Dietary suitability: the capsule contains bovine gelatine and is not vegetarian or vegan.

Directions

Take one capsule daily with a meal and sufficient liquid. Swallow whole without chewing.

Important Information

  • Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dose.
  • Food supplements should not replace a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
  • Keep out of reach of young children.
  • Not suitable for people who have difficulty swallowing capsules.
  • Clinically elevated triglycerides require medical assessment; do not replace prescribed lipid-lowering treatment with this supplement.

Suitable for Any LOLU Diet Programme

Pharma New Zealand™ Ultra Pure 1440 Omega-3 Fish Oil may be incorporated into any LOLU Diet Programme when marine omega-3 intake, cardiovascular nutrition or triglyceride metabolism is relevant to the individual's plan.

Supplementation should accompany—not replace—a dietary pattern rich in minimally processed foods, vegetables, legumes, appropriate protein and unsaturated fats. Triglyceride management also requires attention to alcohol, added sugars, refined carbohydrates, energy balance, physical activity and glycaemic control.
